Feelings/mood- Photographing nature is so relaxing and enjoyable. Flowers, birds, trees; they just do what they do and pose perfect, even when it is breezy. I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing.
Subject placement- This week I got within two inches of spiders and bees and they didn't show any care for me at all; only for their busy tasks at hand. Well, I take that back; the spider did not like the flash after the third try and hid behind his big fat wad. The "Leading the Eye" assignment was much more challenging than finding close-ups, mostly in finding so many pictures to comply with the assignment. The "perspective" assignment was one in which I was able to place someone to have the picture say what I needed.
Multi-layered - The "separate planes" is a series of multiple layers, intentionally. It is also easy to find layers in nature with close ups, since flora and fauna create their own layers.
Depth of field- This is one that I continue to work on; someday I hope to master it. I find it easier to create depth of field with close-ups. Also this week I discovered with close ups it is much easier to use the manual focus than the auto focus. I wasn't fighting my camera so much; I had control!
Light- Light is another enigma that I will continue to work on. I have taken on a new awareness of light and shadows. The picture with my dog was the last picture I took, and I was finally able to understand in practice what the assignment was for. I also really enjoyed the diffused light with the glass. I look forward to experimenting with that more.
Improvement- I definitely need more improvement with exercising patience and study when it comes to focus and light. My "M" focus picture was not as I intended, and I rushed it.
